Soy un perdedor...i'm a looser baby, so why don't you kill me?

Ps2: cliquem no título para ouvir a música.

ps3: Amanhã rise and shine at 08:00! Ah pois!

Ps2: se clicarem no título do post vão para a página do torneio.

Something to fit with my mood.

Here is Johnny Cash again. I heard this song last night in Ant3na, it is a overwhealming song for my mood this lonesome days... I heard it in Pedro Costa show Coyote. It was the first time i heard the show from the begining to the end, and i like it. I am a fan of his shows from the begining since Costa à Costa, it taught me to enjoy rock and roll, blues, country...music at its bear definition. Last night it was a great show: The legendary Tiger Man, Bright Eyes, Lambchop, Johnny Cash, amongst others. Nice Show!Keep on rocking in the free world!

Here is the music: Trouble in Mind by Johnny Cash

Trouble in mind, I'm blue
But I won't be blue always,
'Cause that sun is gonna shine in my back door someday

I'm going down to the river
I'm going top take me a rocking chair
and if the blues don't leave, I rock on away from here

Trouble in mind, I'm blue
But I won't be blue always,
'Cause that sun is gonna shine in my back door someday

Trouble in mind, that's true
I have almost lost my mind
Life ain't worth living, I feel like I could die

Trouble in mind, I'm blue
My poor heart is healing slow
I've never had such trouble in my whole life before

I'm gonna lay my head on some lonesome railroad line
and let that 2:19 special ease my troubled mind

Trouble in mind, I'm blue,
But I won't be blue always
'Cause that sun is gonna shine in my back door someday

2 Legends of R'nR

Redemption Song by Johnny Cash and Joe Strummer from the album Unearthed

Old pirates, yes, they rob I;
Sold I to the merchant ships,
Minutes after they took I
From the bottomless pit.
But my hand was made strong
By the 'and of the Almighty.
We forward in this generation
Triumphantly.
Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom?
'Cause all I ever have:
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs.

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our minds.
Have no fear for atomic energy,
'Cause none of them can stop the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look?
Some say it's just a part of it:
We've got to fulfil de book.

So
Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom?
'Cause all I ever have:
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs.

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our mind.
Wo! Have no fear for atomic energy,
'Cause none of them - a can - a stop - a the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look?
Yes, some say it's just a part of it:
We've got to fulfil de book.
Won't you help to sing
Dese songs of freedom?
'Cause all I ever had:
Redemption songs
All I ever had:
Redemption songs:
These songs of freedom,
Songs of freedom.

Auschwitz.
Foto gentilmente surripada a Ricardo Moreira!

The Fearless Freaks

17 Of May will be the release date of The Fearless Freaks, a documentary about The Flaming Lips, it combines 400 hours of footage that includes a decade of home movies, personal interviews, live shows, music videos, and behind the scenes of Christmas on Mars, another Flaming Lips movie. So far the critics are good, well, if the documentary is like their music i think it will be very good! Hope it will have portuguese distribution, otherwise we have to go buy it on the internet.

Student Events Fall Concert:
WILCO with The Fiery Furnaces
Saturday, October 2nd, 2004
Shapiro Gym
Doors Open at 7pm

WE'RE ALL SOLD OUT!
THANKS TO ALL WHO BOUGHT TICKETS!
SEE YOU AT THE SHOW...

I Want To See Wilco Live Next Monday!

Well, while bands like WILCO are still without playing in Portugal and Madrid is, still, a little bit far to go just for a concert, I have to stay at home listening to the records and hoping that one day we'll see them in Portugal... But, if there's anyone interested in sharing a CAB to Madrid or something...please feel free to say something! Anyway, we still can hope that in the future they will come to play in Portugal, we just have to see now what's going on with Rufus Wainwright, 1st one concert in a big, out-of-place, festival; them a small, crowded, room; recently at Coliseum opening for some insignificant radio friendly - I'm so miserable that sucks - named Keane; and finally on the 24 and 25 of April in the coliseums of Lisbon and Porto. Like we say in Portugal: não há fome que não dê em fartura! Who cannot go to Madrid just have to wait and see... the same thought goes to the concert of Interpol in Madrid next month... We just have to be patience!
Ah, but we have The PIXIES live this summer at Paredes de Coura Festival (17 to 20 of August, The Pixies will be on the 17)
This photo was taken from: ; if the author is feeling abused by the fact that I'm not paying any copyrights please contact me and I will immediately remove it from my blog! Well, one fact is that I'm not making any with it, but that's other question...

Well, it seems that spring time came earlier this year. This photo was taken today from the second floor of my faculty with lousy camera... But it's enought to see the Erasmus people all lying in the grass enjoying the warmth sunshine...  Posted by Hello

Rock and Roll by The Velvet Underground

Rock And Roll
Jenny said, when she was just five years old
There was nothin' happening at all
Every time she puts on the radio
There was nothin' goin' down at all, not at all
Then, one fine mornin', she puts on a New York station
You know, she couldn't believe what she heard at all
She started shakin' to that fine, fine music
You know, her life was saved by rock'n'roll

Despite all the imputations
You know, you could just go out
And dance to a rock'n'roll station
And it was all right, hey baby,
You know, it was all right

Jenny said, when she was just about five years old
`You know, my parents are gonna be the death of us all
Two TV sets and two Cadillac cars
Well, you know, ain't gonna help me at all`

Then, one fine morning, she turns on a New York station
She doesn't believe what she hears at all
Ooh, she started dancin' to that fine, fine music
You know, her life was saved by rock'n'roll
Yeah, rock'n'roll

Despite all the computations
You could just dance to that rock'n'roll station
And baby, it was all right, yeah
Hey, it was all right
Hey, here she comes now

Jenny said, when she was just about five years old
'Hey, you know, there's nothin' happening at all, not at all
Every time I put on the radio
You know, there's nothin' goin' down at all, not at all
But, one fine morning, she hears a New York station
She couldn't believe what she heard at all, hey, not at all
She started dancing to that fine, fine music
You know, her life was saved by rock'n'roll
Yes, rock'n'roll

Despite all the computations
You know, you could just dance to the rock'n'roll station

All right
All right, all right, and it was all right
Oh, listen to me now, it was all right
Come on now, believe me, it was all right
it was all right
Hey, it's all right now,.......

Medication

When life doesn't go as we wish there's only one solution: Move On Up (Curtis Mayfield)

Hush now child,
and don't you cry
Your folks might understand you
by and by
Move on up
towards your destination
You may find
from time to time
Complications

Bite your lip
and take a trip
Though there may be
wet road ahead
You cannot slip
Just move on up
and peace you will find
Into the steeple
of beautiful people
Where there's only one kind

So hush now child
and don't you cry
Your folks might understand you
by and by
Just move on up
and keep on wishing
Remember your dreams
are your only schemes
So keep on pushing
Take nothing less -
not even second best
And do not obey -
you must have your say
You can past the test

Move on up!

Hurt By Johnny Cash

This is one of my all time favourites songs. This brilliant re-interpretation of Nine Inch Nails song fits perfectly with Johnny Cash life. The video for this song is absolutely marvellous...There's much that can be said about this song, but unfortunately I don't have the skills enough to express myself in the proper way.
So listen to it and enjoy.

Hurt

I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that’s real
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything
What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end
You could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
I wear my crown of shit
On my liar’s chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
Beneath the stain of time
The feeling disappears
You are someone else
I am still right here
What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end
You could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
If I could start again
A million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way

Still Waiting: Bright Eyes

"We Are Nowhere, And It's Now"
(feat. Emmylou Harris)

If you hate the taste of wine
Why do you drink it until you’re blind?
And if you swear that there’s no truth and who cares
How come you say it like you’re right?
Why are you scared to dream of god
When it’s salvation that you want?
You see stars that clear have been dead for years
But the idea just lives on

In our wheels that roll around
As we move over the ground
And all day it seems we’ve been in between the past and future town

We are nowhere, and it’s now
We are nowhere, and it’s now
You took a ten-minute dream in the passengers seat
While the world it was flying by
I haven’t been gone very long
But it feels like a lifetime

I’ve been sleeping so strange at night
Side effects they don’t advertise
I’ve been sleeping so strange
With a head full of pesticide

I got no plans and too much time
I feel to restless to unwind
I’m always lost in thought
As I walk a block to my favourite neon sign
Where the waitress looks concerned
But she never says a word
Just turns the jukebox on
And we hum along
And I smile back at her

And my friend comes after work
When the features start to blur
She says these bars are filled with things that kill
And you probably should have learned

Did you forget that yellow bird?
How could you forget that yellow bird?

She took a small silver wreathe and pinned it onto me
She said this one will bring you love
I don’t know if it’s true but I keep it for good luck

Pale Blue Eyes By The Velvet Underground

Sometimes I feel so happy,
Sometimes I feel so sad.
Sometimes I feel so happy,
But mostly you just make me mad.
Baby, you just make me mad.
Linger on, your pale blue eyes.
Linger on, your pale blue eyes.

Thought of you as my mountain top,
Thought of you as my peak.
Thought of you as everything,
I've had but couldn't keep.
I've had but couldn't keep.
Linger on, your pale blue eyes.
Linger on, your pale blue eyes.

If I could make the world as pure and strange as what I see,
I'd put you in the mirror,
I put in front of me.
I put in front of me.
Linger on, your pale blue eyes.
Linger on, your pale blue eyes.

Skip a life completely.
Stuff it in a cup.
She said, Money is like us in time,
It lies, but can't stand up.
Down for you is up."
Linger on, your pale blue eyes.
Linger on, your pale blue eyes.

It was good what we did yesterday.
And I'd do it once again.
The fact that you are married,
Only proves, you're my best friend.
But it's truly, truly a sin.
Linger on, your pale blue eyes.
Linger on, your pale blue eyes.

Now, other "wonder" of Rio Maior

The Postal Service

While I wait for the cd here is a great song by The Postal Service. I know only two songs but they're great... So here it is: "Such Great Heights"

I am thinking it's a sign that the freckles
In our eyes are mirror images and when
We kiss they're perfectly aligned
And I have to speculate that God himself
Did make us into corresponding shapes like
Puzzle pieces from the clay
And true, it may seem like a stretch, but
Its thoughts like this that catch my troubled
Head when you're away when I am missing you to death
When you are out there on the road for
Several weeks of shows and when you scan
The radio, I hope this song will guide you home
They will see us waving from such great
Heights, 'come down now,' they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away,
'come down now,' but we'll stay...
I tried my best to leave this all on your
Machine but the persistent beat it sounded
Thin upon listening
That frankly will not fly. you will hear
The shrillest highs and lowest lows with
The windows down when this is guiding you home

Church in Krakow at about eigth o'clock in the evening, no flash. I like this picture. Posted by Hello

Lover, You Should've Come Over by Jeff Buckley

Looking out the door i see the rain fall upon the funeral mourners
Parading in a wake of sad relations as their shoes fill up with water
And maybe i'm too young to keep good love from going wrong
But tonight you're on my mind so you never know

When i'm broken down and hungry for your love with no way to feed it
Where are you tonight, child you know how much i need it
Too young to hold on and too old to just break free and run

Sometimes a man gets carried away, when he feels like he should be having his fun
And much too blind to see the damage he's done
Sometimes a man must awake to find that really, he has no-one

So i'll wait for you... and i'll burn
Will I ever see your sweet return
Oh will I ever learn

Oh lover, you should've come over
'Cause it's not too late

Lonely is the room, the bed is made, the open window lets the rain in
Burning in the corner is the only one who dreams he had you with him
My body turns and yearns for a sleep that will never come

It's never over, my kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder
It's never over, all my riches for her smiles when i slept so soft against her
It's never over, all my blood for the sweetness of her laughter
It's never over, she's the tear that hangs inside my soul forever

Well maybe i'm just too young
To keep good love from going wrong

Oh... lover, you should've come over
'Cause it's not too late

Well I feel too young to hold on
And i'm much too old to break free and run
Too deaf, dumb, and blind to see the damage i've done
Sweet lover, you should've come over
Oh, love well i'm waiting for you

Lover, you should've come over
'Cause it's not too late

U2

I have to say that i'm not a big fan of U2, maybe it's because i'm too young and i don't feel the excitement that the older generations feel...but this race to the tickets for their concert in Portugal in 14 of August is somehow odd. Ok, maybe not odd, they are, problably, the biggest band playing this year (yes, this year we don't have The Rolling Stones playing, ah but we have Queen, but without the original line-up) at least the most famous, and I think that people are so tired of this miserable politics and economic s(h)ituation that we have in Portugal that they are willing to give between 54€ and 100,50€ to see them, and, as if prices weren't high enought they have to wait almost for two days in ticket lines in the f*cking cold, yes it is f*cking cold in Portugal, with temperatures between -20 in the highest mountain in Portugal mainland and six in Algarve, but people had to deal with temperatures around -6 and 2 degrees while waiting for the tickets. After said this it's predictable that it will be a great show, after all the things people put up to buy the ticket it better be! This subject even motivated my grandpa to say some words last saturday, we has amazed that people would do such crazy things such as waiting in the cold and pay such high prices for such an old group! I won't be there...
