O Conde voltou de umas merecidas férias e eu, para não ser muito duro com ele, dei-lhe uma músiquinha bem doce para ele rever: Thirteen dos Big Star (ver vídeo aqui) dos falecidos Alex Chilton e Chris Bell. Um clássico desta banda mítica de Memphis.

Eis a apreciação do Conde:

Estando de volta ao trabalho, após um curtíssimo período de férias, o Paulo pediu-me para fazer a critica à música Thirteen que para variar não me lembro de alguma vez ter ouvido. Para ser franco até gostei ouvir esta música que conta uma pequena história de amor, embora só tenha conseguido perceber isto para aí à décima quinta vez que a ouvi. Esta é claramente daquelas músicas que devemos ouvir quando estamos apaixonados. Recebe 4,5.

Estimados leitores: está um dia lindo, a vista que temos do Tejo é maravilhosa e por momentos apetece-me voar que nem um passarinho! Passei o dia a ouvir a maravilhosa música "Go Outside" do duo ele e ela Cults.

Para calhar ainda melhor o nosso estimado cronista, o Conde, que para a próxima semana vai de férias. Antes de ir de férias deixou-nos esta crónica.

A música que o Paulo hoje me pediu para comentar além de ter um estilo muito diferente das anteriores é a primeira que eu tenho ideia de já a ter ouvido. Esta música é calma e bastante agradável de se ouvir. Para dizer a verdade nem chego a perceber o que eles estão a cantar, mas aquilo soa bem e liga com o instrumental. Contudo apesar de considerar que esta música tem qualidade, não me identifico muito com este género. Recebe a nota 4.

O Conde tem a primeira incursão na música brasileira, o artista é o conhecido (de quem vê novelas pelo menos) Toni Tornado e a música é "Não grile a minha cuca" (podem ouvir aqui: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bl2rek5D4oc). Será que a doçura da música brasileira conseguirá vencer o azedume da derrota futebolística de ontem? Eis a crónica do Conde:

Na véspera de aniversário do Paulo, quando este me pediu para fazer a critica à música “não grile a minha cuca”, pensei logo que devia ser música brasileira de muito má qualidade.

Após a ouvir, tenho a dizer que isto é, de facto música de má qualidade, ninguém merece ouvir isto, foi um sacrifício ter ouvido varias vezes. O melhor da música é o nome desta que até é engraçado, de resto é tudo muito fraco, banal e sem chama. Leva a pontuação de 1,8.

O Conde hoje analisa a música Sour & Vicious Man dos Compulsive Gamblers. Ouvir aqui: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miH5tDoGNV4. Oiçam, e reservem na vossa memória o comentário: "a letra também é engraçada.", deve ter sido por isso que o nosso amigo Viner a usou no seu casamento.

Quando recebi esta música e vi o título da mesma não augurei nada de bom, pensei que ia sair dali uma daquelas músicas deprimentes de que o Paulo tanto gosta de ouvir. Assim quando comecei a ouvir a música estava com as expectativas muito baixas, ainda para mais com um título que não tem nada a haver comigo “A sour and vicious man”.

Mas após ouvir a música, posso dizer que gostei, superou todas as minhas expectativas, sobretudo pela sua simplicidade e a letra também é engraçada. Fiquei com a ideia do que é um “sour and vicious man”só por isso vai receber a nota de 4,2.

O Conde respondeu ao meu mail com a seguinte frase no assunto: "Importante Não revelar a identidade do Conde", ora, a Crónica de hoje recai sobre a música Caroline retirada do novíssimo álbum Open Water da Nicotine's Orchestra que pode ser descarregada gratuitamente daqui: http://www.pachuco.co.cc/.

Ora o Conde sabe que a gerência é fã, então, depois de ler a sua crónica compreendi o porque da frase no assunto.

Mas como aqui não há censura (e vocês podem facilmente tirar as vossas conclusões fazendo o download do álbum no link que indiquei à pouco) aqui fica a Crónica do Conde.

Após muito ouvir o Paulo falar no Nicotine confesso que fiquei um bocado desiludido com a música.

Não gostei da parte instrumental, nem da letra da música que quase se resume a repetir a palavra “Caroline”, que repetida tanta vez acaba por ficar na cabeça. Aliás se daqui a uma semana ou duas estiver a ouvir a rádio e estiver a passar esta música só vou saber que musica é quando ouvir a palavra Caroline.

Comparativamente ás músicas das anteriores crónicas considero que esta é a música mais fraca. Assim sendo recebe um 2,5.

A contra-crónica do Tone

O Tone é o meu superior e como tal não gostou de ter visto o Conde a assumir protagonismo neste blog e decidiu criar também ele a sua crónica. No entanto, ao contrário do Conde, as crónicas do Tone não terão qualquer periodicidade estipulada. Aqui vai a primeira, mais uma vez sem censura, e com o tema principal o falecimento do Gary Moore:

Foi noticiado ontem que um guitarrista, de seu nome Gary Moore, faleceu na cidade espanhola de Estepona em circunstâncias esquisitas dado que ainda era um homem novo.

Naturalmente esta notícia teria, para mim, uma importância mais ou menos idêntica à da notícia do agravamento da micose no escroto de um observador internacional das eleições em Cabo Verde.

Mas a minha história é outra…o dinheiro, o dinheiro que me deves à 5 anos! Espera…já sei...já sei o que andaste a fazer com o meu dinheiro…casa mobilada, à grande e à francesa! (fica aqui a minha homenagem ao génios que realizaram o Balas e Bolinhos).

Mas voltando à vaca fria, para meu grande espanto quando regresso ao trabalho, o Paulo Louro não referiu nenhuma novidade no campo de Rock n’ Roll durante o fim-de-semana. Foi então que recordei a notícia da morte do referido artista musical. Rapidamente, desenvolvo uma pesquisa na internet e apuro que este artista teve sucesso no fim da década de 80, colaborando até com grupos como os Thin Lizzy.

Está explicado. Com efeito, este artista deve ter vendido mais de 10 discos cumulativamente e tocado para mais de 50 pessoas ao mesmo tempo. Realmente, que descaramento, que ousadia, há com cada lata. Conspurcar notícias do Rock n’ Roll associando estes artistas à arte.

O Conde é um colega aqui do trabalho que vai passar a ter uma crónica bi-semanal neste Vosso humilde espaço. O "knack" da coisa é que o Conde não "percebe" nada de música e está-se muito francamente a marimbar para isso. Isto vai funcionar da seguinte forma: eu mando uma música ao Conde, ele ouve e escreve uns linhas e eu publico aqui, livre de qualquer censura.

1.ª crónica do Conde: The Saints - "Know Your Product", lançada em Fevereiro de 1978 foi o segundo single do álbum Eternally Yours. Podem ouvir e ver o clip aqui.

Aqui vai o texto do Conde:

Quando comecei a ouvir o ” know your product” fiquei surpreso por não ser uma daquelas músicas que falam da miséria da vida que o Paulo tanto gosta. Uma música que fala mal do sistema (ensino e da publicidade) só pode ser boa. Mas não é uma música marcante nem tão pouco fica no ouvido para cantarolar mais tarde. Por isso numa escala de 0 a 5 leva um 3.
